I am very happy with the LG BD550. I wanted a product that (a) Playing a Blu-Ray, and (b) Let me see streaming movies / shows on the Internet are changing with my Netflix. This does both.

I held the high-end, but decided against it because I did not need the built-in wireless, so I just have an Ethernet port on the BD550, but not wireless (and saved more than $ 70 there). I already had an Apple Airport Express behind the media to stream music from iTunes on my stereo and I could configure it as a simple wireless Ethernet bridge to connect, so that the BD550 to the Internet, I had to do was to close an Ethernet cable from Airport Express BD550. Blue-Ray audio quality seems good to me.

The user interface is appropriate and reliable responses. I have no complaints with the remote.

One thing I did not expect – the BD550 not 1080i. I do not know if this is normal for players to comics, but I passed it to 1080p for playback of BD.

Since it is connected to the Internet, it will occasionally ask me if I want to upgrade the firmware / software.
The apparatus does not generate much heat and no air holes in the top or sides of the block of apartments that is, without openings, so I thought it was OK for my cable / DVR in the upper part.

UPDATE 2: I tried the service Vudu. As a new user, they offered free rent for a while. Vudu currently supports three levels of quality streaming: SD (480p), HD (720p), “HDX” (1080p). As for the quality of Blu-ray video playback, really for me as a normal user, they all work as well. For the loading speed, I’m not sure if this is because the players are all trying the Internet for the first time before the game (BD link), but I think it’s just too slow as a DVD.
